Summer Family Fun at Liberty Center - FREE Movies, FREE Concerts & FREE Story Times!

The temperature is warming up and school is out! Woo hoo, summer has arrived! If you are ready to enjoy family-friendly summer events, then head over to Liberty Center. They are having FREE summer movies, FREE summer concerts, & FREE story times (Tuesdays at 2 p.m. & Fridays at 11:30 a.m.). MasonMetu has always been a proponent of finding family-friendly things to do and we like them even more if they are FREE!

Knowing that you will have FREE entertainment options at Liberty Center, you can splurge a little and enjoy a nice meal with your family either before or after the show. Liberty Center has some great dining options and one place we all liked was Flip Side. Flip Side has such a cool vibe inside. I liked the different seating options which combines a mixture of booths, and high & low tops with an urban flair. Flip Side specializes in burgers (serving Ohio raised premium grass fed beef), and they also have delicious chicken sandwiches, and salads. I like that the kids can get a shake or a root beer while parents can enjoy one of the many beers they have on tap. Fries are served on the side but come in a big basket so you can share (1-2 orders for a family of 4 is perfect).

If you really want to score high marks for a family night out, then your next stop has to include a visit to IT'SUGAR. The old adage, "you're like a kid in a candy store" really comes to life. I guarantee you'll be rewarded with some big smiles, lots of thank you's and maybe even a fist bump. Of course, my downfall is Swedish fish. I just can't walk away without getting a little baggie just for me (shhhhh, don't tell the kids).

Now onward to the show. Check out the upcoming lineup of FREE summer movies, Movies Under Moonlight, are on Wednesday nights (June 7 - Aug. 30). Bring your own chairs/blankets for seating and head over to the Park (movies start at dusk).

If you decide, you're more in the mood for some toe-tapping musical sounds then check out the line up for the 2017 Summer Concert Series. Live bands will rock the square on Thursday nights from 6-9 p.m. (June 1 - Aug. 31).

There are even more options for summer fun with the family including visiting Cincinnati Children's Discovery Center, joining Liberty Center Cub Club, or getting some fresh fruits and vegetables at their summer Farmer's Market. If you'd rather do an indoor movie then don't miss out on Cobb Theatres' FREE Kids Summer Movie Escape. New movies are offered each week (June 13 through Aug. 3) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m. with same day ticketing).

Of course, you can always cap off your night of summer fun with a visit to Graeter's. Yum!
