Horseback Riding
Horseback riding is great fun for kids. There are so many opportunities in the Cincinnati area to saddle up. Many of the places listed offer riding lessons on horses but if you just want to give your kids the experience of riding a pony, then head to Parky's Farm at Winton Woods. For a small fee they can get a short guided ride and you will see smiles for miles.

Lessons can range from $25 an hour for group lessons and up to $70 for private lessons but check with the riding stables for specific rate information.

Circle K Ranch - YMCA Camp Kern
Oregonia, Ohio (800) 255-KERN x 1531
Circle K Ranch - Part of the YMCA, Camp Kern offers riding lessons throughout the year. Offering group lessons, private lessons and semi-private lessons. We took our Girl Scout troop on a trail ride with the instructors from Camp Kern and they all loved it. My daughther also took horseback riding lessons there for a year. I really enjoyed the low-key program. They were very clear about horse safety but they also let riders learn at their own pace. They had a few horse shows each year but these weren't overly stressful for the participants and the riders got a chance to see what a horse show would be like.
Poplar Creek Horse Center
3400 Macedonia Rd., Bethel, Ohio 45106, (513) 284-3685
This farm looks beautiful and you can enjoy it overnight at their Bed & Breakfast. But beyond the asthetics, they have the Poplar Creek Horse Center LLC, which is a full service horse training and boarding facility offering lessons and more.
