Visit Tower A at Cincinnati's Union Terminal
I'm sure many of you have visited historic Union Terminal at the Cincinnati Museum Center. This is a local treasure that has been entertaining and educating visitors for many years. Our family has enjoyed the amazing museums repeatedly and each time we see and learn something new. One of our holiday traditions is visiting Holiday Junction and seeing all of the intricate train displays. Imaginations soar as we see all the tiny displays come to life as the trains chug by a small town or head up a snow covered mountain.
After you see the miniature trains, be sure to visit Tower A where you can also get a great view of real working full-sized trains. You will visit the restored Control Tower. Just imagine how bustling this space was in its heyday. Tower A is FREE and you get to see a part of Union Terminal that you may not have visited before. You'll take an elevator located to the right of the OmniMax entrance to get access but please note that you then have to climb some stairs to get to the overlook. The Cincinnati Railroad Club maintains Tower A and they love having visitors.
Take some time to see the train memorabilia on display and then enjoy the views. It's fun to see an actual train yard in action. If you have kids, I'm sure they will find the large train bell to ring. There are even two train tables where kids can play. If you have any questions, there is always a friendly and knowledgeable train volunteer ready to help.
