Red Gold Lasagna - If I can do it, you can too!
For anyone who has visited my kitchen, you know that I like easy. Of course easy doesn't always translate to delicious but this time it did. Thanks to Red Gold, I was sent a Red Gold Party Lasagna Kit filled with a starter supply of (2) Red Gold Basil, Garlic & Oregano Diced Tomatoes, (1) Red Gold Crushed Tomatoes, and a box of Creamette Lasagna Noodles. They even supplied a nice spatuala for lasagna extraction. They also provided a sheet filled with lots of lasagna recipe ideas.
I decided to add sweet Italian sauage to our lasgana so I went with their Easy Classic Lasagna Recipe. It was my daughter's birthday and I was having family over so I was hoping that it would turn out ok. It was better than ok! In fact, my two picky eaters, gobbled it up. They actually asked for seconds. The recipe was super easy to follow but the only thing that I did notice was that there seemed to be a bit more liquid at the bottom of the lasgana pan so next time I think I will cover the bottom of the lasagna pan with only 3/4 cup of sauces instead of 1.5 cups the recipe calls for.
All in all the lasagna was very flavorful and pairing it with a salad and garlic bread really made for an easy and delicious birthday meal. We will definitely use this recipe and Red Gold Tomatoes again. Red Gold has lots of great recipe ideas on their website so I hope you will stop by and visit soon. Their "Quick & Easy Black Bean & Corn Salsa" recipe just caught my eye (key word easy).
